Well shopping is now well underway, room is filling up and i have stock to be picked up in various other locations - time to switch to next ATM card (westpac)- and it doesnt work!!! Tried numerous different ATM's and still no luck, call to Aust, reveals that it isnt set up for overseas transactions (oh s&%t)- i explain that this is a new card thats just been issued and i was told it work - was told sorry can not help you, if i would like to submit a complaint upon your return? Brain is going into over-drive, thinking, thinking....ended up on the internet and transfering funds from one bank to another - takes 3 business days (and today is friday bugger!!!) - I have never had a problem before with westpac, until i was advised to switch to a different type of account to save fees etc.
So with no money, orders to pick up and more shopping to go - everything was put on hold, just incase.
So we switched to 'leisure mode' - hired a motorbike and spent the next 4 days on 'magical mystery tours', re-discovered Greger Beach about 30mins on motorbike, ended up going here 2 days running. I think i now prefer here to Padang Padang - 2 sunlounges and umberella rp20 000 for the day, no hassels from sellers and masages (they are there, but leave you alone), food/drink service, just sit back and watch the surfers coming and going out to the nearby reef and the seaweed farmers at work.
Found streets and lanes that never knew existed and shortcuts that suprised us.
Called into Dolphin Leather to get a favourite skirt copied (that i have been meaning to make for about 2 years), while there, hubby says how about i get you a leather jacket made? Well i jumped at the chance, this was another thing that i keep saying i will do one day.
So 2 days later and $130 i had the jacket (and my skirt).
Also went upto Tegalalang for the day (sunday) alot of the shops were closed, which was good in one way because i filled the back of the van anyway.
Each time we go to Bali we make sure we eat at 3 new places, this trip we managed 5:
Nero's - yes it was nice but no desire to return
Fookin Pub - definately the best Nasi Goreng of the trip, will return.
Munching Inn - Aussie owned, food was food, nothing to make us return.
Zanzibar - Good food, will return
Masakan Padang - ok, its not a resturant but it was a new dining experience that i will repeat.
Anyway the rest of the trip was, eating, shopping, relaxing so i wont bore you with that.
Left Bali with 42kg (one bag each). friends were 45kg over and got away with it mmmmmmm.
Got to airport alittle eary so we could take advantage of Prada Lounge, tried to charge us rp150 000, told them we have always paid rp100 000, 'oh ok no problem' (nice try buddy).
Had snacks, sandwiches, salad and drinks.
Hopped on a full Singapore Airlines plane to singapore (1 hour in transit), then another full plane to Brisbane.
A meal was served Bali/singapore and then another meal served singapore/bris, plus breakfast about an hour before landing in Brisbane - if your on a diet dont fly Singapore Airlines!!!!lol.
Anyway, hope some of this has been helpful, alot of things i have breezed over, will provide more details if requested.
Next trip is planned for July, so its head down and bum up and hoping for many customers between now and then.
