We have also used Salin. He is a nice man as is his family.
On one of the trips he tooks us on was the scenic route to Amed and then on to Tulumben to dive on the wreck.
Other places around Candi are the Bali Aga traditional village where you can watch lontars being carved/engraved.
Tirta Ganga water palace (take your bathers).
Amlapura markets. Ujung water palace (must see).
Padang Bai if you like snorkelling (Blue Lagoon).
You can climb up Gunung Gummow (Sic)the local temple, there is a great view of Gunung Agung (hope you like monkeys).
The floating palace at Klungkung is within driving distance (remember to visit the museum across the road where the big obelisk is).
You can hire a jukung (local canoe) and go fishing and they will cook the catch on coconut husks on the beach for you with serve of rice with peanut sauce on a banana leaf. (100,000rp).
You must have a meal at Vincent's while in Candi.
Just a few things to do while there, enjoy your stay.
Cheers.
