Hi Clare

We stayed at Playgrounds which is a bit of a walk back along the beach from Lindas( we had a good lunch at Lindas one day ).So we had a few restaurants along the cliff area where we were staying. We ate at Cafe Ware Ware which is reasonable and also another night at the very beautiful new Resort called Batu Karang. This resort has a very nice restaurant around the pool and is very pretty at night.Staff are very nice and have a lovely bar area and good wine/cocktail list.Food was great.Owned by a family from Noosa.

A favourite beach cafe of mine is around at Mushroom Beach and is called Bar AND cAFE bALI lEMBONGAN. 081 338 609 240 great food and right on the beach. They will pick you up at night or you can get a boat round during the day. This beach is a nice little spot to spend a few hours also is where the Bali Hai Resort and Hai Tide Huts are.

During the day we hired a local boat and Capt to take us out snorkelling at Crystal Bay/Gammit Bay/Off the Wall and lastly Mangroves then he took us around to Mushrooms Beach for lunch and relaxing and picked us up about 3pm by Motor Bike.

Another day we went walking around the island taking in the sights of the village along the beach. We also walked into Lembongan Village one afternoon as the young guy who ran our villa invited us into his village ceremony. Was a great afternoon.

You can hire motor bikes to get around the island and across to beaches like Dream Beach or around to the Suspension Bridge that takes you over to Ceningan Isalnd and also have an explore around there for a bit.
If you dont want to drive the bike yourself you could get them to take you.We also just enjoyed taking in the sights of the changing tides out over the water and all the activity that goes on from Seaweed Farmimg/Surfing etc it is a very beautiful area and soooo relaxing and layback. I went with my partner and we had three nights and 4 days we had a boat transfer with the accomodation where we stayed. It was also a smaller boat like the Scoot. The Scoot have a new beach terminal and you will have about a 10/15min walk up the beach I am guessing...

We also enjoyed a massage with the wife of the guy who took us snorkelling. It was great she had done a course over at one of the Hotels at Nusa Dua and was very good. She came to us and also hads one of the little shops down on the beach front-Her name is Wayan and she has the first shop as you come down from the steps from the little cliff where the other accom etc is ( so south of you) .Her husband is Made and is the boat Capt.

If you dont have a pool at your accom the Villas along the cliff allow outside guests to use the pool for free if they buy a couple of drinks. Eg ours at Playgrounds is very felxible and the staff are great. They ahve a sign at the steps saying buy a drink use pool fpr free.

Also Playgrounds has a driving platform (golf) into the water and the challege is to hit the strategically placed flag and you win a teeshirt.A bit of fun if anyone is a golfer.

Well I hope this helps if you have any other questions just email me and I will see if I can supply the answers.

By the way the island way of commuting is mainly by foot or motorbike there would only be a couple of small trucks on the island no cars.... This was my second time to the island and I would gladly return as would my partner we loved it. Bye for now Toni
