I stayed there a couple of years ago, and based on that stay I found it fine. The pool was clear when I was there and the rooms and staff were fine. I think the main criticism with the breakfast is that it is a bit ordinary, and I didn't really enjoy it and only ate brekky once or twice, but I don't think there is a problem with anyone getting sick from eating it. I don't stay there now because it is quite a large hotel with lots of families and so doesn't suit me, but I think it is fine for what people pay and the rooms are clean and good size. Brekky is no big deal, so many places close by and very cheap if you don't like the hotel breakfast. It is really a matter of personal preference, lots of people on here love hotels which I personally thought were very average and would not stay at again. I think MBR is a good hotel for families and first timers who would enjoy the company of other Aussies around them in the hotel and on the beach.
