like the others below have said, everyone has different experiences with the same hotels. that's what this forum is for, to share them with each other.

we usually stay at 3 start hotels when travelling to bali, so have experienced a few of them and in my opinion the melasti was the worst.

i left a pair of denim shorts there and went back for them the next day and they were gone. fair enough i guess if they assumed i'd gone home to australia but they new we were checking into the padma and the cleaner was the only one to have entered our room since we had checked out. so i was pretty annoyed when there was no sign of my shorts after 3 subsequent attempts to get them back over the next 4 days.

i have also travelled around the world a fair bit and would easily say that its the worst breakfast of any star hotel that i have ever stayed in, there was just nothing fresh about the food at all (and i generally eat cereal at home lol)

either the bali garden, puri raja or white rose hotel would be better all round options for the prices they offer.
