Okay I've only been home for just a week but the Top End is calling me back again. I've got a strong personal reason as a historian & genealogist to make the trip back for Feb 19th.I want to meet the old diggers & get their life stories.In 5 years time it will be too late.
I am sure anyone who lives in Darwin knows the significance of that date - or at least your parents or grandparents would if they were there in 1942.If you feel inclined & you are in Darwin on 19th Feb consider going to the Cenotaph at 9.30am to pay your respects.
Anyway getting back to our BTF Darwin dinner - from what I know we have 2 lots of people out in the Rapid Creek,Coconut Grove area & 1 down at Palmerston.I will be staying in the city most of the time so am happy to fit in with where ever.Anyway most places in Darwin are not much further than 15 > 20 minutes away.Let me know which area of town you live when you contact me.

Re the Darwin Encyclopedias that LUVtheNT refers to - it has pretty much already been decided that as a tourist & non-local my other half & I are probably the ones with a recent monopoly on this <LOL> I am already working on something to forward to LynneD for her next trip.Anyone who thinks Darwin is boring or has nothing to do just needs to chat to me or my other half.We spent 16 days in Darwin & the Top End & never ran out of things to do.
In closing- Thanks to Ken for BTF & allowing so many of us to meet face to face - not only in Bali & become friends but for his patience in our posts for BTF functions in Oz.
