When we went to Bali at christmas my father in law had a white cross on his bag, When he asked what the white cross was for he was told that it was for electrical items in his bag. Because the bags are put through an xray machine on arrival in Denpasar. My father in law had a shortband radio which he had bought in bali and takes it wiht him every time. I was told it is to do with customs laws in regards to electrical items bought duty free.
