the bali blues have hit once more so my only joy is to retell the stories from this trip. Had got one of the Jetstar opening prices for $12 each way. so left Melbourne then had a 8 hour stop over in Sydney but we managed to find things to do the kids had PSP, portable DVD players and MP4 so that wasn't too bad and they are teenagers so don't need much input from us. Arrived in Bali at 9.45pm to pouring rain, it was beautiful especially as we are from Melbourne and we haven't been in the rain for a while. got a bemo to the Dynasty, our first time there. Wow what a resort. we are usually a 3 star family and stay in pretty quiet hotels but this had everything. we had interconnecting rooms on the 3rd floor overlooking the pool. went to gracie kelly's for a drink and soak in the atmosphere. over the next 10 days we shopped at Centro, on the streets and went for a drive to Kuta galleria. We also had a trip to Nusa Dua where the kids went Jet skiing and on the flying fish and we all snorkelled and went to Turtle island. thats a great day out especially for the older ones. Went to our tailor and my son got a pair of snakeskin leather boots made for his birthday and i got 2 pair of knee high leather boots made.
the staff were great at the Dynasty.
there weren't many tourists on the street and we went to Paddy's one night at about 11.30pm and there would have been about 25 people there - very sad.
we tried to spread the money around and bought things from all over the place even though we have a regular supplier but we just felt we needed to share it. even poppies seemed quiet.
if anyone wants to know anything please feel free to ask and now i just have to save so we can get back there as soon as possible. cheers kathy
