Not that long ago you were not allowed to make your own arrangements. A package holiday was just that. Then I think with more people returning to Bali they wanted more choice so the wholsalers had to come to the party. Of course they will tell you that you can't do it as they are losing money. The minimum started at 7 days and is now down to 2 days. Part of my trip, as always now, is own arrangements, no problem. I was also locked into a wholesaler this trip as I postponed a trip last November so was unable to take advantage of any other specials, but still got a good deal as I had a pay/stay deal (no longer available for 2007). I suggest you ask your travel agent for the price for just 2 nts. Some wholsalers will charge you an own accommodation fee. I had to pay $40. I didn't think that was a problem. I hope this helps.
