I bought pearls from Ali Jauhari the pearl seller from near Pantai. I would suggest you call him first as he is often in Lombok getting more pearls. If you ring him he will come to your hotel. His pearls are freshwater pearls but he has some nice quality ones. He will bring South Sea pearls if you ask him to. These are much more expensive, around 150,000Rp to 187,000Rp per gram. A large one is around 7gm. Large freshwater pearls of good quality are about 350,000 per strand. Smaller ones start at about $7.50 Aus per strand. He is very nice and there is no pressure selling at all. His mobile number is 08124620596. It is much easier to buy in your hotel without all the other beach sellers shoving stuff in your face. Happy pearling.
