but I guess I've been a bit spoilt as far as buffet breakfasts are concerned (Mercure Sanur and Novotel Benoa buffets are probably the benchmark). Sure, there was fruit, but it was always watermelon, papaya and pineapple. There's so much delicious fruit in Bali that I think they could've added a banana, rambutan, markisa or salak from time to time to add a bit of variety. I don't expect bircher muesli at a 3 star hotel, but that rice porridge is good stuff, and I'm sure it's cheap and easy to prepare. I literally ate boiled eggs and 'soldiers' most days, with an occasional pancake thrown in (avoiding the pastries, on the grounds that they're too damn fattening and not filling enough). One day I had toast with sliced tomatoes, which I quite often do at home.

Seaside is a few doors down from Zanzibar at the KP. There seem to be quite a few interesting restaurants around there. Next time I'm in Bali, I'll try them all! :-)
