I would stick with your own currency. I bought some US$ from G'daughter last year, to save her paying fees at the bank, and had all sorts of problems changing them. Because they are so easy to forge, they are put through machines two or three times. I found one money changer in Little Padma, who was wonderful and even changed some she had that were pre 2000 for me. Totally honest, just towards MBR from GVC.
