You will find heaps to so in Ubud. I agree with all the suggestions so far. There are a lot of drivers sitting along Monkey Forrest Road so you can easily get transport at any time. If you prefer to have a regular driver, I can highly recommend a fried of ours, Putu Putra who has a brand new Toyota 7 seater with great air con. You can call him before you go or when you are in Ubud on 081 2366 5584 or email pututour@yahoo.com. He is young and speaks good emglish and is a very careful driver. He knows heaps and heaps of places through out Bali but Ubud is his speciality. You can negotiate rates but a guide is a nine hour day including petrol around Rp450 000. He will help you to bargain good prices at the various art villages etc. he si also happy to show you local village life up close.
DOn't forget to go to the Heron Village - it is amazing!
