I have stayed at both the Niksoma & Kumala Pantai & I think with a 10 year old the Kumala Pantai is the better choice. The pool area at Niksoma is very stark with not much shade, the pool at Kumala Pantai is huge & has lovely gardens etc. I think also a little cheaper than the Niksoma - the alterations do not seem to have started yet. The restaurants right outside Kumala are also very good, Zanzibar, Blue Ocean, Lanai & Seaside - The Kumala Restaurant is now called Restaurant Italia and is set in the garden overlooking the beach.
