Not only Aussies stay here - there was a mixture of nationalities when I stayed here last February. The hotel was nearly full & yet it was quiet noise-wise. There were no drunk hooligans - but I may just have been lucky! I couldn't hear my neighbours either, apart from the occ toilet flush!
The rooms are very nice, clean & well maintained. If you ask for garden view rooms (A block or NS block) then you won't get any noise from the pool. The pool is huge, with plenty of shade down one side & nicely landscaped. The hotel is on the beach, so you can walk down to Melasti St or up to Double 6 with little trouble.
The food is great & cheap for a hotel. Breakfast is a buffet (included), with an 'egg-man' to cook your eggs. The hot food is covered. You can eat inside the cafe or on the outside patio & watch the beach traffic. There are quite a few good restaurants nearby street-side & beach-side. I liked this hotel far more than the Jayakarta.
Check out Mic's forum for reviews & webshots for photos.
Cheers.
