GWK is a cultural park on the road to Uluwatu.
It has some amazing amphitheatre with huge sandstone walls.
Its actually an old quarry which was planned as they dug out the stone.
There are two statues, Wisna and Garuda. They are 22 metres high and that is truly huge and awesome.
This is not a daggy arty place, I think the children will love it too.
You can combine it with a trip to Uluwatu temple which is on the cliffs edge on the south coast of Bali. There are naughty monkeys there and so long as you include a guide and take care and listen to what not to wear and do etc, its interesting.

All you need to do is book transport, a driver for a day trip to go to Ubud area and visit the Zoo and or bird park.
Wayan Merta comes strongly recommended by me wmerta@indo.net.id
but then most of us have our favourite drivers.

I never book tours as I think they can be a bore. They often stop at things that dont interest me and I like to be able to stop and take pics or for whatever reason. For a family, it would positively work out heaps cheaper to have your own driver.
