Same boat for us too Sue. I've even looked at Perth and Darwin options but too expensive and domestic flights don't match up.
The Earliest flight out of Brisbane or Coolangatta is the 6:00am from Coolangatta that arrives Sydney at 7:25am but this doesn't allow enough time to get from Domestic to International terminal in SYD to check in for Garuda flight which departs at 9:00am so it looks like leave the day before and overnight hotel in Sydney.
I won't lock into the Jetstar option because if Garuda do bring Brisbane back online in March (I'm being very optimistic I know) we can cancel SYD and re-book ex-BNE.
But so far this is all we have to pick from at the moment as I see it. I'm sure someone with more inside info like Nicki will correct me if I have steered off course here.
