The pic of the entry to the Nusa Dua Hotel - I have one of my girlfriend standing in the same spot in 1979 - she is wearing a red terry towelling jumpsuit, you know, no straps, boob tube type top, elastic waist with shorts all in one. Such a good look.

I wonder if our paths every crossed back then as I was there also both in 83 and 84. '83 I was there on my own and remember the pub crawl well. Started off at Waltzing Matilda then Yogi11, up to Casablanca and back to Kayupi. It was a great way to meet people. I even have the same little leather bag as you have on the table in the Casablanca photo.

Took my boyfriend (now husband) there twice in '84. First time we stayed at Pension Joni's in Jalan Padma. He liked it so much we went back again the same year this time going 'up market' to Kuta Palace. I can remember their restaurant always had a really strong smell of garlic. One time we went in for dinner and when we ordered the waitress gave us the bill and asked us to pay before we even received our meals - more training needed LOL. You must have been one of the first guests there. Didn't it open in 83 or thereabouts. The opening ceremony plaque is still there past reception in front of the main pool. The only pool that was there back then.

The following year we went for a month and stayed in a bungalow at the Intan in Melasti Street when it was beachfront. I wonder what I would have done if he didn't like Bali and never wanted to go back. He is a surfer though, so I suppose there was no chance of that happening.

Thanks for sharing your photos, it is great to reminisce.
