Have you tried lathering up your fingers with soap/detergent/hand cream and quickly giving them a solid pull over your knuckles?
I have had a number of pieces of jewellery remodelled and altered at Bali Hai Hotel jewellers Toka First, in Tuban.
I have been happy with their workmanship.
I have taken old pieces of gold and they have melted it down and reused it.
