dont know about the 20kg for sporting goods,but surfboards are fine to take,you can upgrade to business class and that allows you 30kg.my advice,pack what you feel you need,then take 2/3's of that out of your suit case and go with minimum and buy what you need there soooooo inexpensive.have fun
