We buy a Pro XL Bali Sim Card and send txts to NZ from Bali. Most places sell them. Cost is about 6 cents (NZ) per txt. Remember to put +6421(or +64274) ...... before the mobile number you are sending to. Some of our friends had a bit of trouble texting but the girls in the phone shops were able to get their phones texting OK by altering a setting on their phone. Any unlocked Vodafone mobile that accepts a sim will work in Bali. Also make sure your stored numbers are transferred from your NZ sim to your mobile memory before you insert the new Bali sim. (To ensure you still have all your contact numbers available.)
