Tiger Airways will start flying four times a week between Singapore and Perth from 23
Mar, with daily flights during peak holiday periods. From Nov, Tiger plans to have daily
flights between the two cities.
• Rival budget carrier Jetstar Asia may resume flights to Perth which its subsidiary
Valuair dropped earlier last year, citing low yields and fierce competition.
• SIA, which owns 49% of Tiger, already operates three daily flights to Perth from here
and Qantas is said to have almost as many flights between the two cities.
• Tiger will also be starting trials of seat allocation and portable in-flight entertainment
devices on its longer haul flights, including Perth. For an 'affordable' fee, customers
will have the option to pre-select their seat during the booking process and view onboard
entertainment. (SBT)
