Computer Antivirus Programs

Hi again, i was just talking to a friend of mine about how we are off to bali again in 3 weeks. He asked me to buy a heap of the Mcafee or norton (or whatever) anti virus programs from Softcomp. Does anyone no if it is possible to install one and when it expires, install another one? will this work. I have no idea abou this stuff but thought i would ask. Thanks
