Firstly, it is not spelt Rajahs - it is R.AJA's
Yes there is something there now in Kuta Square (a shop but I can't remember what they sell)
They are now in Seminyak next door to the Bingtang Supermarket. Same Menu and Same staff but prices cheaper as the cost of premises is cheaper than in Kuta square.
The walk is not that taxing (if you enjoy walking) or jump in a cab for about 20,000rph. It is well worth it if you previously enjoyed eating there and they certainly can use our support.
R.AJA's was always our favourite (especially the Chiken Hot Plate Noodles) and we were there 3 days after the 2005 bombing.
The place was still littered in glass and debris and boarded up.
We had both the pleasure and Heartache of meeting the wife of the waiter that was killed - she had their 3 month old baby with her. Myself, my wife and our 4 kids were reduced to tears.
We gave her $100AUD (would have given more but did not have it on us) - when we were there last October (at the Seminyak location) we gave the staff 100,000rph to pass onto her - she came in the next day to collect it and left a thank you note.
We have been to Bali 6 times - it was the first Restuarant we ever ate at in Bali and we would usually eat there 5 or 6 times each trip, the staff all welcomed us back like family each time. We are so happy that it has opened again albeit in a different location
We thought about postponing our trip in Oct 2005 but it was the fact that it was R.AJA's that had been bombed that made us go - we just had to pay our respects - we left a little Bunch of flowers and a card at the scene which read;
1 Chicken Hotplate Noodles
1 Nasi Goreng
2 Orange Juices
We will be back to have when you are ready
And by god we were!
