the a.m..... We asked the hotel the evening before to prepare a special cooked breakfast for him of all his favourite breakfast foods.
They went way over and beyond our simple request.
On arriving at the restaurant for breakfast, we were stunned to find a pavilleon set aside for us & decorated with streamers , balloons, birthday messages, a cake they'd ordered in, the kind of fruit tower you see at ceremonies. Other than the fav b'fast foods we'd ordered they'd done all of this free of charge. (Thanks Swastika for your thoughtfulness and the light in my son's eyes that morning) All the hotel guests joined in singing happy birthday. One anonymous hotel guest even left a gift for him at reception.
Noon..... Birthday lunch at Bubba Gumps with all the staff pots and pans banging singing and dancing for the birthday boy that you hear about. They made him feel very very special. (Have heard it's even better at night.)
Dinner..... A few days before we'd ordered a cake from Bali Bakery. It looked and tasted fantastic. We picked it up on the way to the restaurant, The Crown. Again, Bali took our breath away. The Australian owner had decorated the whole restaurant with balloons!!
After a great dinner Jimmy the Magician arrived to perform his magic. His performance is not too young for a 14 yo as we all ended up in tears of laughter. ( You can book him at Star Disc )
