Hi everyone,
Heaps of people seem to be going over to Bali now which is fabulous. I've included a link so that people can choose to register online with DFAT. We did this before we went last time which turned out to be helpful as we were in Bali during the second bombing. We got updates via email as it was difficult to get info on what was happening for the first day or so. Obviously, it's not everyone's cup of tea, but it does help to put my family and friends' minds at rest.
Also, another thought. We brought back heaps of vanilla pods on our last visit - they are so cheap in Bali. I've given them away as Christmas and birthday presents, with handwritten recipes etc. We declared them and there was no problem getting them through customs. We brought some from the coffee and spice plantation, which turned out to be very expensive compared to the ones we purchased from the Ubud markets.
We're looking forward to our trip next month - a week in Amed at Blue Moon Villas and a week in Legian at the Padma. Have been reading with great interest all those Jetstar posts!!!
Cheers,
Andrea
