We have booked for Jan using FF, the 5th time we have used FF. To help get your flight you can book your flight there 1st once it is released & then book your return flight later once released. NB the booking on line is not always that great & you may have to go to the phone for assistance (at a cost) if you need to fine tune the bookings. Yes you have to pay taxes but much cheaper than the total air fare.
