Two weeks goes so quick..so sad, yet we will be back again in April if not before.
Garuda with Regina, my wife and another couple, no problems and one of the smothest rides i've ever had from Melb. via Sydney.
Stayed at the Barong Hotel in Poppies 2 and meet up with another couple and their 14 year old son who are friends from Melb.
This is the third time we had stayed at the Barong and found it to be a family type hotel with small groups of younger peolpe in their late teens to early twenties, so it was a mix of ages and nationalities which made it a great mix of friendly quests and the staff are friendly and enjoyable.
The two massage ladies at this hotel are among the best I have experienced in Bali, I normaly try different places for a massage as I like to try differnt type massage, something like trying different restaurants, Yoman and Made know how to keep you coming back for more.
We spent two nights at Rama Candi Dasa hotel in Candi Dasa and were joined as a group also with an Expate friend and his lovely gf.
The hotel is on the beach with a wonderfull modern resaurant and pool area, the bungalo style apartments we had booked were a little older but were very new on the inside with an outside are in the bathroom. Food was great and they allowed us without corckage to dring our own wine, spirits and beer round the pool and restaurant.
Quad motor bikes, wow, what another great experience the 4 males in our group and a lovely lady of 62 who was staying at the Barong had on this tour. Rp.500.030 each covered the cost including lunch and transfers. Marg took it a little easier then the males did but we all got a chance to takle in the sceenery of the hills, rice paddies, rivers, small villages, bush tracks just wide enougth to except a quad bike. My two mates tho had accidents (self inflicted)
due to over exssesive behavour, one miner scratches and the other a large blood clot to the anckle which is being treated and should be o.k. this was more of a freak accident associated with two much speed. Not the Quad Tours fault.
Geneva for the first time with Regina and the ladies as she wanted to buy light fittings and wanted my advice! most are all o.k. as they are only shades that you adapt to Aust. light batten holders.
Kuta Karnaval.
Another great experience in Bali. Most food items were discounted as were the drinks and we over indulged a little on ther food and Frozen Margarits...Security was good with many Polisi and Mounted Polisi with magnificent looking Aust. Type Police horses. There were thousands of people on the Saturday night that we went but we felt safe enougth.

Highlight of a night out was at my expate mates house with our group and 4 other expats and the host suppled a BBQ with balinese spices and local Sate Lalic ets. It was just magnificent. We danced untill
early ours of the mourning and then headed back to the Barong for a litle R&R.
These are just some of the highlights of our trip and I hope you enjoyed some of my experiences with me as you read this.
Regards Bob and Regina
