The flights seem to be pretty much full but that's because the amount of available flights have been reduced and the planes are smaller.
We flew back last weekend and expected to pay excess luggage with over 12kg of excess between two of us, but luckily we weren't asked to pay anything. I spoke to a few people in the queue and they were all overweight but no one was charged for it. Just a lucky night I guess as I've heard of plenty paying for less weight. You can't assume anything.
