stay in Lovina. It's a few villages along a strip of coast. Kalibukbuk is the main village, and has the most places to stay, but if you want to stay somewhere right on the beach with local atmosphere, I stay at Villa Agung in the village of Anturan. Lovely staff, small pool, their beachfront restaurant is 3 steps from the beach, and there are a few warungs down along the beach as well. A lovely lounge room above the restaurant stocked with books and games, no TV here! They only have about 5 rooms, the upstairs rooms have a long balcony out the front and back, rice paddy at the back and mountains, towards the front the sea. Great food in the restaurant, Sandy and Gus, owners are sometimes in attendance (live next to the property). If you want any more details, email me. There are bemos that run up and down the main road between the villages, I think it was perhaps 2,000 rp. for a trip along the strip, about 5,000 to go into Singaraja (5 km) With drivers, usually you would pay for their accommodation at the place, some places have rooms for drivers where they can stay together - this maybe 'free', not sure, or you could give them some accommodation money and they would be happy to go and find some local accommodation.
