DAY FOUR - NINE
Today was time to head north to our favourite resort in Sambirenteng.............but still a bit of time for shopping along the way!
Miss Debby
This clothing shop on Sahadewa Street, Legian has everything in one-stop shopping. We got the copy t-shirts in all shapes and sizes. I got Roxy boardies for about 35,000 Rp (I can't remember the price exactly!) and also Billabong shirts for 40,000 Rp and singlets for 35,000 Rp. Great - more Christmas shopping out of the way.......

On the way north we stopped off at this gallery, which we have also been to before.
We bought some lovely abstract oil paintings - they took them off the frames and rolled up carefully, no problems to bring home and then lay flat once again before we get them framed.
There is a large range of paintings, from traditional to the modern and suit all tastes.

We arrived 3 hours later to Sambirenteng, via Kintamani to the quiet side of our stay. And yes, no more shopping!
3 luxury villas beside the sea - we were the only guests and enjoyed some R and R.
Played tennis, read books, daily massages, good food etc etc.
It was my husband's birthday at ABN and we enjoyed a relaxing day, complete with black forest cake, which we shared with the staff for afternoon tea.
We visited a local school near Les, a nearby village. It was Saraswati ceremony day and the children were all dressed up for it and we enjoyed a lovely visit, after the long walk up hill to get there.
Managed to watch the AFL semi-finals live on tv, so a few screams and shouts from our villa as the Perth teams were both successful in their games and we went a bit crazy.
Weather
I think that September is the perfect month to travel to Bali, this is our second trip at this time of the year, the days are warm and sunny, without being stifling hot. Humidity is much lower than the wet season and the evenings are just a few degrees lower than the days and perfect for eating outdoors and enjoying feeling the warmth. I think that this bodes well for future birthday celebrations will just have to be Bali-based each year from now on.
