I also recommend Ubud Village Hotel. Lots of intrepid older ppl in Ubud. I met a couple at the hotel who were no longer young but he would take off into the ricefields with his satellite positioning device so he didn't get lost! Myself, I'd have a drink at Ibu Rai, where there were quite a few older lone ppl like myself in the evening. Murnis is another good spot (to eat or drink).
