Sunday 10 Sept
DAY TWO
We started the day with beroccas and neurofen, after about 5 hours of sleep, the last thing I wanted to do was hit the shops. But breakfast arrived and cooked in the villa by the friendly staff at 8.00am and the food did make me feel slightly human again......
At Sienna Villas you get American breakfast complimentary and for an extra $US4.00 can upgrade to the full cooked breakfast, so planned to try that one tomorrow. But for now, toast, fruit, juice and tea were more than enough.

SHOPPING
We started our shopping with the arrival of our DVD's and we didn't have to venture further than the front door...

Movies
I had pre-ordered our DVD's with H*lgie and he arrived at 10.00am to the villa, always on time. I love the home-delivery service - very convenient. We visited Sakura to get more music DVD titles and those that weren't filled on our original hit-list.

Fabrics - Alta Moda
Komplex Istana Kuta Galeria
Blok Entrance 1 No. 03-06
Jl Patih Jelantik - Kuta
Tel: (0361) 769200
Last trip I was looking for curtain material and wandered into Alta Moda by mistake, but for dress fabrics this is the place to go. Back in June they had a sale, but not on in Sept, so I had to pay full price, but for what I got, am very happy with the fabrics.
I had a pattern for an evening dress and I wanted something slinky. I didn't really like the patterned materials on offer, so opted for plain Italian silk.....it turned out to be $A25.00 per metre and I bought 4 metres, in a copper colour. I also bought some patterned silk for two tops to be copied and they were about $30.00 per metre. My husband had a silk business shirt made at Alta Moda in a week. Fabric was $40.00 and cost 125,000 Rp to be made. He was very pleased with the result and they adjusted the collar in a day, so a lovely unique shirt. The staff are very helpful and showed me many types of styles and colours before I made my selection. I know that I couldn't have faced the Denpasar markets in my fragile condition, so a cool modern shop was definitely the way to go.

Kid's Clothing
Ramayana
Tip from the forum was to head to Ramayana department store in Denpasar.
What a find!
This department store is one where the locals seem to shop and just about everything was reduced from the tag price. My girl friend has an 8 year old daughter and a 4 year old son and we found lovely sequined jeans for about 70,000 Rp, little tops and shorts too. I was looking for newborn outfits and found some lovely baby clothes and booties, all for a few dollars each.
Ladies clothing tended to all be in very small sizes, but I bought a t-shirt and a sarong for myself.
Checked the shoe department and found some casual slip-ons for about 35,000 Rp. Also bought a watch for 70,000Rp too. So thanks for that tip, I shall be going back there again next trip.
Centro
The kids clothing was more expensive here, but a bigger range here than at Ranayana - found plenty more on sale for the littlies.
Of course we found time to pop into Bread Talk for some refreshments and to fuel up for more shopping. Hubby sat outside on the steps whilst we ventured inside, (we had threatened to go to the shoe department for a few hours)......he ended up buying 20 Bintang singlets from a guy he started chatting to, for 450,000 Rp, so his wardrobe was set for the rest of the trip.

Tailor
We contacted our tailor, Ewan and he popped over to pick up my silk and to check what I wanted made.
He is located at: ORCHID TAILOR Jl Werkudara/Pura Bagus Taruna 518c, close to the Jayarkarta Hotel in Legian.
He made my silk dress and copied two Japanese-style tops and I am really pleased with the result. A few fittings later and it was all looking lovely. He was really busy the next week with a wedding party staying at Sienna Villas, so flat out getting their frocks made in time.

Massage
SUKU - is a massage/reflexology salon located at no.60 Jalan Raya Kerobokan, but who also do home-visits. We discovered these ladies last trip and they are sensational - 100,000Rp for home visit or 70,000 Rp if you go to the salon, for a one-hour full body massage. I actually loved going to the salon, as they use hot towels before the massage to get the old shopping weary muscles heated up and it was sensational! When going to the salon, we had a complimentary cup of ginger tea when we had finished and it was really lovely.

Dinner
Tonight we headed to Aurora for dinner - one of our favourite spots for the degustation menu.
Located on Jalan Laksmana No 72, Seminyak.
This time we had 8 courses, but I was a bit disappointed compared to last trip back in June. I had high expectations after our first degustation and it was great, but a few courses were far too salty and that detracted from the meal, but overall it was top-class, downed with a few bottles of red wine - so was our splurge of the holiday.
It's unusual how I can manage to start to eat dinner on holiday at 10.00pm, when I would normally be tucked up in bed at that time back at home. We managed to graze on until midnight and then just had to catch up on the sleep we missed last night! Next time we will try the upstairs tapas menu.

Also a note on security - back in June there was security at either end of Eat Street, stopping all cars etc, but this was absent this time...not that it bothered me, but just noticed that the security was now reduced to each villa and those restaurants with them out the front, rather than on the road itself.
