This was our sixth trip in the past couple of years and we took along a girlfriend with us, who hadn't been to Bali for +20 years, so she had a shopping list to complete and armed with advice from her Mum "to make the most of this holiday and get the least amount of sleep as possible", we followed her suggestion..........

Saturday 9 Sept
ARRIVAL - NIGHT ONE
Flew from Perth - Bali with Qantas on 9 Sept.
Flight not overly full - sitting at the pointy end in business class seats is lovely. The whole flight is economy, but those seats are rather comfy.
Movie: ‘Kenny' was a good laugh and we didn't get a DVD of it in Bali, so glad we had a chance to see it.
Flight took off a bit late, but we landed close to on time into Denpasar. Unfortunately there were at least another 2 flights had landed before us, so we had to be patient and wait in line for VOA. Took about half an hour to get out of the airport and into the warm Balinese night.
We arrived at Sienna Villas around 11.00pm and got a second wind, so ended up at the Metro Sports Bar, our usual watering hole, until nearly 3.00am in the morning......phew, so much for pacing ourselves! I am a morning person, so staying up late is most unusual for me, but after a few bintangs, cocktails and shooters, didn't really care what time it was!
Quick taxi ride back to the villa for a night cap and then crashed for our first night.

VILLA SIENNA
Sienna Villas are located down a small lane, off Jalan Raya Seminyak, a few doors north of the Bintang Supermarket, on the same side of the road. Firstly, the location is excellent and although close to the main street for shopping, eating etc, the villas are surprisingly quiet at night, no loud noise from traffic or neighbours at all!
Spotless rooms, 3 bedrooms, each with own en-suite bathroom. There were only 3 of us using the villa, and it is huge. Large kitchen and lounge space with all the mod cons you could want. Our friend thought that the villa was the hotel's lobby and it took her a few minutes to realize that the entire area was our alone.
I was also very impressed that we had an iron and ironing board near the kitchen - in my travels to Bali I have never before had an iron in the room and this was an added bonus that I appreciated. Also they have complimentary mossie spray and repellent too in the kitchen. No mossie nets over the beds, but it wasn't a problem, as they probably sprayed when they did the bed turn-down service in the evening, so no bites there at all.
