I've just got back from Bali & can recall reading information over there regarding ice, don't ask me where though. In the past ice was a no go area, but things have definitely improved in recent years and the government now regulates production of ice. If you are having ice at restaurants or at your resort, they will have sourced it from a regulated producer. Go for it!
