I work in the travel industry. DONT use your credit card insurance. The excess is HUGE and it only covers you for items you have paid for with your card ie, plane and hotel and transfers. However if you are to step out your hotel door and fall over - NONE of the medical expenses or any expenses are covered. If you have an accident in a taxi you have not paid for before your travel by credit card you are not covered. If you loose an item of jewellery or belonging that was not originally paid for by credit card, and you must have proof it is the credit card you have the insurance with it is not covered. You are only covered for accidental death wilst on the aircraft and only accidental- terriorism is not covered.
SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE BEEN BURNT BY THIS. It is soo hard to read in the product disclosure statement what you are covered for and what you are not. please remember, nothing is for free!!! pay for your insurance!
