We used Mida to do our bookings for accommodation which we used last fortnight. I was not requested to provide Credit Card or Passport Details - the only details I needed to provide where flight numbers.
I wonder if it has something to do with some hotels requesting a credit card number prior to booking (we stayed at 3 different hotels, 2 booked via Mida did not request a credit card swipe but other hotel which we booked direct did ask for credit card number prior to us using the room). I can highly recommend Mida, her service was outstanding.
