Well I think it is better to know what is going on.
Thailand is a good few years forward from Bali. Do not get me wrong I love Bali, but a lot of trade is run by the military in Bali.
They are funded (about %90) last time I looked by their business.
This is a massive problem. Unfortunateley Bali for all its charms has a very violent history, sponsered by the Dutch the US and the UK.
Try discussing the anti communist purge with the Balinese. (1965).
Try and visit the graveyards at dusk.
Bali has a special place in my heart. It also has some very sad legacies.
