I agree with you Fiona. If you are looking for cheap, clean, friendly hotel accommodation I dont think there is anywhere in Kuta that comes close to the GG. One thing I really like about this place is that no matter how late your plane arrives they are always there waiting with your paperwork, a drink, a warm welcome and a room thats ready and waiting. I've been to other more expensive up market hotels who are welcoming and organised if you arrive at a reasonable time but act like the had no idea you were coming if you arrive late and expect that you won't mind getting bunged into any ol room for the night and they'll see what they can do for you the next day! We always stay at the GG when we first arrive until we get organised with the rest of our travel and we love it.
And Kylie, we were upgraded to a family room last trip and they are very big with a bit of extra privacy from a curtain dividing the room and the beds, a large clean bathroom, balcony and a fullsize fridge.
