I would book at least the first night with zuji, wotif, ratestogo (all dot coms)in the area you are interested and then check around. The lower the occupancy at the Hotel usually the better discount. The Hotels that are heavily featured in package deals, in my experience, are usually the less likely to negotiate on a rate.
