I have often brought wood and bamboo into Oz. Essential thing is to examine carefully before buying and check for borer holes or insect poo and then choose another one. At Oz airport MUST declare on arrival form and will be checked by AQIS and if OK goes thru or is not may be treated or if very bad may be taken to destroy. Have any items for AQIS easilt ready to examine so not such a hassle and looks better to inspectors too.
