When I pay for my tickets I just use the credit card as far as I know it is automatic as long as you have paid 50% of the fares. The insurance cover covers all immediate family as long as the holder of the card is on holiday at and at the same place as the others. So altogether, stay together! I did phone after paying once just to make sure we were covered as I had heard something about only covering the cost to airport and then return from airport (???). Anyway we were covered and they sent out another policy booklet with all updates to me. I know my Coles Source card even though thats a Gold card only covers you for the trip to the airport and the trip back home!!!
You are not covered for terrorist activity, don't know of any companies that do cover for that though. The excess is $200.00 on any or each claim but I believe you can pay something extra to cover even that. I never have. Only covers up to 90 years of age and has limitations for those 75 and over.
