we just got back on monday after 16 nights @ patra it was beautiful. we usually stay legian/seminyak but this time my husband wanted to stay on the reef so he was in his element eating breakfast and watching the surf, middles breaks straight out the front slightly to the right of the coconut tree behind the pool (one of three)
the rooms are very nice we were in the villas 321 it has a huge bath we took our two 8 year olds they slept on fold outs which was fine the rooms are big enough they were stoked cause they had their own tv and were glued to the disney channel when ever they could
the staff are very nice nothing was too much trouble the grounds are huge try and get a room close to the pool/beach cause you will have a long walk from the back they use golf carts to get around
breakfast is fantastic huge selection of foods western/indo/japanese
the restaurants are all very nice + japanese/italian a bit expensive but the quality and quantity are good drinks are pricey too they have a happy hour from 5-7pm buy one get onr free
we went out of school holidays so there weren't alot of aussie kids which was a bit of a bummer for the girls usually they meet a tribe of new friends found a lot of guests were from asia or on business confrences
not a lot of restaurants nearby walk up the beach towards kuta the pantai seafood is good nice to watch the sunset can reserve your table at the front to watch the sunset ma jolly is nice a bit pricey green garden is nearby it was nice cheap and cheerful we tried the lotus thai a bit further up the same st the food was very nice strangely though we saw very few people dining in there
if you lke to shop you will have to cab it down to kuta/legian/seminyak can walk to kuta takes less than 30 mins along beach even less hotel has free shuttle runs every couple of hours drops you next to bubba gumps taxi there will charge you about 20,000 rph or so hotel taxi will be about 40,000 rph ask them to call a meter taxi for you from the foyer if you don't have a driver i can recommend wayan kirra @ front of hotel he has a new and very comfortable kejang english is good and he knows the place backwards
washing go to laundry up from green garden on opposite side of road big sign 900 rph per item used them heaps and they were very good
hope this helps loed the hotel would definately stay there again
