Our friend from Bali who came to stay with us last year in Sydney is returning to stay again with us in a few weeks time. Both times the visa only took 3 days until it was approved, and both times we have got our friend to get quotes from airlines in Bali and then we deposit money into his account for him to pay for the airfare. In our experience it was much cheaper for him to book his return flight in Bali... Hope this helps.
