I had made a promise to get a massage in the late afternoon of the following day. Knew I was off to UBUD and would be late back but thought about 5pm would be a safe arrangement.
When I got back it was about 6.30 and I ran through Santika Beach Hotel down the back to where the massage ladies work. Poor woman was just packing up so I offered to pay her any way as a promise is a promise. She insisted that she hadn't waited and had just massaged someone so all was well. Didn't know whether she was making it up or not and really wanted to pay her. She sorted it by offering to do the massage then we both win...
Well it was sunset or just past so not quite dark at Tuban and a storm was coming. I lay under this tree watching the colours of the sky change and the wind stop and start and then a couple of BIG drops of rain. There was a bit of lightning and a tiny rumble of thunder.
It was really exillerating. This woman said to me to relax, enjoy the weather and that it would pass which it did. She asked me if I was scared ... After a really long hectic day it was just surreal.
I don't know if I am doing this justice, maybe you just had to be there. We didn't talk too much and of course I went back to her over and over again on that trip. Feel awful that I can't remeber her name right at this moment as I will never forget that night.
