or ring Garuda or whoever direct and ask for their airfare only cost. This will depend on what availability of cheap seats there is on the day you want to fly. Zuji will display the cheapest fare for the dates you want. I kept zuji on screen while I rang garuda and zuji were a little cheaper but with a family the difference may be bigger. I went with Garuda because my reading vision is no good at the moment and I was a bit scared of making an error.
Now check a few websites for hotels you like the sound of. If you are not sure Mics Bali site has reviews for most hotels. Check their internet rates and add them to the cheapest airfares you found. Now check the brochure prices for the same hotel and you will have your answer.
My gut feeling is that with children you may find the airfare only and book over the internet a bit cheaper unles there are some red hot specials for families out at the moment.
It's a bit of a jungle but not at all a matter of penny pinching more common sense and more to spend in Bali.
