I think if you go back to the bank who sent the money for you that it is not the bank in indonesia that is charging theis fee,you will find that your bank has charged you a fee up-front for sending what they tell you is the correct amount of australian dollars but what they havnt told you is that the money is not going direct to the indonesian bank as they dont have a "relationship" with this bank so they have to send it via another bank,quite probably an american bank,that does have a "relationship" with the indonesian bank and then this other bank takes out its own,exorbitant,fees for doing this and the balance is sent on resulting in a shortfall of funds at the final receiving end.I found this out many years ago and consequently when the only way funds were accepted was bank transfer i shopped around all the various banks here to find one,if possible,that did deal direct with the bank that the payment was directed to,but the best way is by c/c.
