I was booked into the Villa Kerti Yasa for 4 nights in August 2006. This hotel was also supposed to provide transfers from the airport, and back to Seminyak. I have travelled extensively through many Asian countries, including 4 times to Indonesia & Bali. I have never had such bad service as I did from this hotel. They left us waiting at the airport for over 3 hours, and didn't come to collect us until I'd made many phone calls to them, my travel agent, and insurance company in Australia. When we finally got to the hotel sometime past midnight, we found it looked nothing like the photos featured on the website. The rooms looked like a toilet block with a bed in it. The decor was nothing like shown in photos. The pool was 'broken, and give you bad rash'. The staff, if that's who they were, were rude, out of uniform, and not in the slightest bit helpful. After the nightmare of getting to the hotel, we found no drinking water in our room, no visible restaurant, & no chance of buying anything to drink or eat. Our only contacts were 2 'staff' who spoke little English except to say they'd drive us to a convenience store if we offered them cash. When we told him not to bother. They then agreed to drive us for free. During the 5 minute drive to a Delta Mart, the driver constantly swore, and spoke under his breath at us in Indonesian. By now it was past 1am and we had little choice but to accept our circumstance and just try to get to sleep. We woke up the next morning at 7am and walked out. This is a very abbreviated story of our nightmare with Villa Kerti Yasa. We now look back at it as a 12 hour nightmare we'd like to forget. I know it is a budget hotel with prices from US$40 to US$85 a night, but I wouldn't pay 10Rupiah a night to stay there. It's a dump. The pictures on the website are lies. The staff are rude. The place is run down. And I advise anyone considering staying there, to head up the road to the Pertiwi Resort & Spa. They came to our rescue and provided us with a beautiful room in the surrounds that we had expected to find at Villa Kerti Yasa. I cannot recommend strongly enough that travellers on any budget, DON'T BOOK & PREPAY THE VILLA KERTI YASA. It's crap!
