Our 2nd last day and I took daughter and another friend up to Geneva.Didnt buy too much but also forgot to get my dark candle sticks BUGGER !!
Later on we went to the Flying Piano for lunch which was very nice.Pretty quiet at lunchtime and the food took a while but it was very good once it came.
We relaxed around the pool later and daughter and I had a french manicure for 25.000 each from the girl by the pool.I'm sorry I didnt get her name but she was lovely and friendly and we spoke every day.She was always chatty without hassling us to use her.She said she only does manicures etc not massage. Many of the guests were real regulars and I'm sure she does ok there.
Got some great silver jewellery at Bintang Silver in Jln Padma Utara which is all fixed price.Daughter got her rings she ordered and I bought silver from them too at Maha Surya Silvers also on Jln Padma Utara.
I had ordered 2 leather jackets from Cecuk ( tutut) at Merry's collections so had to go back each night to collect things. They made a mistake with the sandals we ordered so we only got 1 pr as the others were done in the wrong colour and no time to correct it.My 2 jackets are great except the long one need a slight adjustment and my boots are too tight so they need to be stretched !! Last minute tomorrow for pick ups !! I had also orderd 6 leather chair mats for my water hyacinth dining chairs at home and they turned out great.Dark brown leather.
On Sunday I went to pick up the jacket and boots and they are all good. The boots arent perfect but I think they will be ok as I wear them in.The jackets have already been worn a bit as its been quite cool here at home and they are lovely and soft.I paid $100 and $115 for the jackets. One is waist length and the other thigh length.
Saturday night we decided to try the Italian at the Kumala Pantai as it was always busy but it was a disappointing meal.Service was very slow and food just ordinary.Girls had dessert and said it was good.Tirumasu.The dads took the boys onto the beach to light fireworks after tea and were again approached by the Tennis Coach !! There was a young blonde haired boy alo hanging around on his own and after our husbands told the tennis coach to get lost they told this kid to go back to his parents. The tennis coach sat on a motorbike parked across from the restaurant for ages "reading a paper " and the boy was still hanging around by himself and when he walked past the tennis coach spoke to him and a few minutes after followed him up the road towards Zanzibar.I was keeping a close eye on all this so soon followed to warn the boys parents but they were nowehere to be seen.It worries me that if people arent aware that these type of people are around that they will allow their kids a lot of freedom in the thought that its safe. The tennis coach didnt become aggressive towards us in any way but he certainly can look menacing at times. He was always by himself when we saw him but it is interesting how he was always seen with an older european man in the earlier sightings. One wonders just what their scam is ??
Coming to the end of another fabulous holiday to Bali.My 6th trip with 4 in the last 4 years I am truly a Bali addict.I dont feel we were overly hassled but there is definatley more pressure in the Kuta area compared to Legian and then Seminyak. It is also much busier in the Kuts are still and I am told the nightclubs are still full after 12.
This time we ate a lot of indo food and some of the best was at the smallest Warungs but overall the food was pretty good everywhere. Its amazing how many variations you can get of Mie Goreng etc !!
I'd like to thank Lynne D for her restaurant list which I printed out then highlighted so I had an idea where to go.There arent too many in the legian area now that we havent done but there are still many to get to in Seminyak for next time !!
Thanks for reading and I hope you have enjoyed reading about our Bali holiday for 2006.Wish I was still there !! :(
