Today we were up early and met by Rico then we went and picked up his wife and kids and set off to his village where his parents and brother live.We spent about an hour there with our son playing soccer with Rico's son and we had some very strong sweet balinese coffee and some home made rice cakes. From there we went to the Royal temple and had a look around then went to the Lake Temple and visited Crackers bar and Grill and those FAMOUS toilets !! They certainly impressed our driver and his family !! We stopped for a drink at Crackers then got some T-shirts from the Adopta ladies and some strawberries at the markets before we headed off to Pacung Indah for lunch. As we walked in we were met by the charming David who had seen us heading in to Crackers earlier ! He asked us if we were from on of the Bali forums and of course we are ! David joined us for lunch and we had a good chat about life in Pacung and Bali in general. After lunch David was able to show us some of his rooms and they are sensational.I will definately be putting them on the list for next time. The views are just so good and each room has a little private courtyard out the front also. There is one room that has a seperate living area and two bathrooms so would be perfect for a family of 4.
We also had a look at the Botanical Gardens which was full of locals enjoying their public holiday to celebrate their Independance Day.Families playing badminton and soccer everywhere.Spotted the tree top walk and will try to get there next time also.
Our mates had been to the Monkey Forrest with Benny today so we met up later at our hotel and strolled next door to Tunjung Bali Resort to enjoy wood fired Pizza's for tea. While we were there I asked could we see their villas and went through the one closest to the pool and restaurant. It is really very nice and has a large double room then a large twin room , both with large bathrooms and then downstairs alongside the living area is a single room and bathroom.Low season is US $105.50 per night and High season US$127.6-50.(high season 15th July- 20th August and 20th Dec-5th Jan)
Now I have to say that tonight while we were sitting at the Tunjung restaurant we were at a big table with my son and mu friends 2 sons together at the table behind us but closer to the road.Next thing my son comes up and says Mum theres this weird guy at our table !! Well I almost jumped into the seat next to this guy but then decided to play it carefully and introduced myself and asked where he was from and why he was here in a friendly manner. He tells me he is a Tennis Coach !!!! so I asked for his business card and he says he doesnt have one but he can give me his number so he wrote down his name and number on a piece of paper. He asked where we were staying and I lied and said Melasti and he says thats good becoause Melasti has a tennis court. All this time I am giving the eye to my friend so she comes over and joins in the conversation not having a clue what its all about. We then tell him we are going to eat now so say goodbye and he wandered off no problems.
My son and his mate are 12 and neither of them had any idea about the tennis coach but I am so glad my son came and told me he was there as he moved in so quick without us even noticing. There were 4 adults at our table and my 14 yr old daughter and none of saw him come in.I asked the restaurant manager if he knew the man he said he didnt and he didnt think he should have been there as they have security !! Yeah right !!
So without being too over the top and I would hate to be victimising an innocent person I have to say that this guy is creepy and yes he is only interested boys and he must be about the only person in Bali running a "business " without a business card !!We were to have another meeting a few nights later so it would seem he definately targets the legian area.
